INCLUSION CRITERIA:
Married women of reproductive age less than 50 years of age, parous or
nulliparous, requesting for copper IUCD as family planning method, a Qatari or
non-Qatari resident of Qatar and registered at any PHCC Health Center,
- Mothers who have had vaginal delivery,
- Postpartum mother ≥ 4 weeks,
- Women under Category of 1 or 2 of WHO – MEC for copper IUD (initiation)
- The exclusion criteria for IUCD insertion procedure:
- Single women, unknown marital status, visitor.
- Confirmed pregnant or pregnancy cannot be excluded (Refer to Appendix E)
- Women who have had previous cesarean section type of delivery.
- Unexplained vaginal bleeding
- Woman who has had a post-surgical abortion.
- Previous cervical/ uterine surgery or anomaly.
- Has breast, ovarian, cervical, and endometrial cancer.
- Has increased risk of Sexual Transmitted Infection (STI’s)
- Women under Category 3 and 4 of WHO – MEC for copper IUD (initiation and
continuation)
